Sunscape - another poem & pic of mine

There is this sun that fills the sky
a little light of purple
that colours me, washes over
my thoughts, spreads over early
morning fields of fog and dew,
filtering light on four corners of frame.

The release and snap of shutter
a little splash of flash
captures red sun rising
bringing hope of new morning.

Wow, that picture is artwork. Reminds me of one of the Dutch masters done in a mouth watering red, Vermeer or Van Dyke, one of those guys. Awesome work.

I loved the poem too, all except that last line. Heh Well, you knew I'd grouse about something, right? :D

Seems too cheap for the rest somehow. I'd rather it ended on "red sun rising" if you can come up with a different last line.

I hit, "filtering light on four corners of frame" and went, HUH? Then I laughed at myself. Very clever. Also loved:

"The release and snap of shutter
a little splash of flash"

Nicely done. Thanks, Tiger. :)

Tiger,

I'm enjoying your photos as much as your poetry these days. This picture is amazing. I've been to Ireland twice and remember not only the bright greens but the sky's changing colors and the softest air I've ever felt brushing over me. I love the description here in the first stanza, especially "a little light of purple/that colours me, washes over/my thoughts..." I can just feel that! I would agree with PB about the last line, but everything else is exquisite.

Thanks for your comments. Glad you liked it. Now I just have to go over the poem and see what changes I can do to it. There's nothing I can do about the pic :P
